ACORCA's Governance Model
ACORCA is led by an 11-member Executive Committee, from across East, West, Central & Southern Africa. The Executive Committee is led by three (3) co-Chairs [Link to co chairs]. The coalition is fully bi-lingual (French-English) and has three Thematic Working Groups led by a Chair and Deputy Chair. The Executive Committee also oversee Resource mobilisation and Partnership Building activities of the coalition.

The Executive Committee includes 8 additional members representing diverse regions and expertise across Africa. The committee meets quarterly to provide strategic direction and oversight for ACORCA's initiatives.

Our small Secretariat is based at Health Development Initiative (HDI), Rwanda, a service delivery and research non-governmental organization focused on sexual and reproductive health.

Legal Status
The Coalition is hosted legally and financially by HDI who acts as our fiscal sponsor. The Coalition is NOT a registered legal entity, charity or non-governmental organization. ACORCA’s finances are kept separate to those of HDI’s other operations through a separate bank account.

This group focuses on providing technical support and resources for abortion research initiatives across Africa, empowering researchers with tools and methodologies.
